It's sad that some of this stuff has to be pointed out to people, but I hope it helped some people. As I'm sure you can imagine, D and I have gotten "When are you getting married" or "Are you going to get married?" or "Do you think you'll have kids?" and even "Are you just going to have kids?" (i.e. not get married, because why should we bother?) about a thousand times in the last, oh, 4 years. I'm glad to finally have a solid answer for everyone (whew), but still, not something anyone should have asked ever or I will ask anyone ever. Oh -- the kids thing too. I've known SO many people who cannot get pregnant. I never, ever, ever ask if/when they're going to have them. Great points in here. Great blog.

I think this is an accurate assessment, I think social media has played right into, not only our desires to hide behind a fake persona, but also our desire to be famous, and worse we want to be famous without really being good at anything. In the end we prostitute ourselves for something that is at the least fleeting and at the most not even a real form of acceptance (which is what we are really looking for from fame and a persona).

Matt,
Truthful, "tough love" message....Often it is hard to preach things that may make others uncomfortable, but this message was meat as opposed to milk...love the truth in the word and love that you care enough to "tell it like it is"
Praying we can all walk in his likeness!
God Bless

Thank you brother for your thoughts. It is striking to me that we should lose two high profile leaders in polar opposite spheres of influence. Hate/Love. I suppose balance is maintained. I remember Ron speaking about how he beleived there would be a release of the Apostolic annointing when Billy Graham dies and I can't help but wonder if there will be a similar outpouring as a result of David's death. Just speculating.

Well said, Matt...It saddens my heart to think of those whose passion is so misguided. I love what Josh Hooper from the River said,,,If God can change Saul to Paul,,he can do anything. Imagine Osama's influence had he been serving Jesus...So many souls lost by deceit from the enemy....so many hearts and lives lost from not knowing our LORD and savior....Thanks Matt, for you leadership.

Matt, Your blog was spot on. Two men living polar opposite lives. One's life fueled and blinded by hatred and the other's fueled by the love of Jesus Christ. One that made world headlines and one that didn't make the national news. Not much fan fare but what a life lived showing others to the way and the Truth the Life, the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our passion that fuels us whether it be for evil or good. Oh how Jesus must have greeted David Wilkerson. He would have had to say, "Well done good and faithful servant." And oh what is in store for Bin Landen as he faces the Lord and must bow before Him. Your insight was truly gifted by the Holy Spirit and serves as a reminder to all that it is our passion that drives us. May my passion be Jesus Christ!
